Bagnaia takes back control in the Netherlands

The rain finally gave the protagonists a little respite MotoGP ahead of the second free practice session of the Dutch GP. On a still wet track, hostilities were first led by Miguel Oliveira and Luca Marini. But as the track dried, the two men gave way to the usual category leaders.

Shod with slick tires, fabio quartararo, Aleix Espargaro and Francesco Bagnaia shared the top of the hierarchy at the end of the session. But it was ultimately Bagnaia who had the last word with a time of 1'33.274, 1.4s off the track record.

The Italian has a little less than two tenths ahead of Espargaro while Quartararo completes the Top 3. Alex Rins, still diminished by his left arm injury, Alex Rins is credited with the fourth time and the Spaniard places a fourth manufacturer among the top four.

Leader of the morning on a wet track, Jack Miller is fifth, more than half a second behind his teammate. Maverick Viñales, whose very last podium in MotoGP dates back to this same Dutch GP last year on Yamaha, confirms his progress on the Aprilia RS-GP by setting the seventh time.

First KTM representative, Brad Binder is eighth ahead of Johann Zarco and Marco Bezzecchi, who made a mistake for the second time of the day in FP2. The Italian brings up the rear of the drivers who are for the moment assured of going directly to Q2.

Rain not being on the agenda for Saturday, Enea Bastianini, 11e, Miguel Oliveira, 16e, or Jorge Martin, 17e, have a chance to catch up during the third free practice session.
