Although at the end of the Grand Prix, Francesco Bagnaia only managed to complete a podium that was still dominated by Marc and Alex Marquez, the Ducati rider can be satisfied with having stayed in the rhythm of the two leaders throughout the entire race. A far cry from his very disappointing 12th place in the Sprint, this new podium has the effect of a rejuvenating effect for him.

"Today, it wasn't just third place that we went for, I was also able to regain a lot of confidence, he rejoiced, visibly relieved after the race. I needed a result like this. This morning, we adjusted something that allowed me to gain confidence on the bike. This small step forward allowed me to gain speed and have a better race. I tried to catch up to Alex, but he also accelerated when he needed to. With two laps to go, I managed to complete my fastest lap, though, so I'm very happy. I thank my whole team. We had a difficult start to the season together, and we were able to sort out the problems, so it's very satisfying."

Braking problem solved for Bagnaia

Much more in trouble than Marc Marquez on the Ducati GP25 since the start of the year, Pecco Bagnaia is already nearly 100 points behind the Spaniard after this latest race. Among the avenues to explore for the rest of the season, the Italian rider finally seems to have identified a problem before the Aragon Grand Prix.

"The detail I'm talking about is the brake discs. I used the biggest one, he revealed to Canal+. It allowed me to feel better on the brake lever. Until yesterday, I still couldn't control my braking properly. But thanks to this new disc, I had more confidence in my braking. These are things that we have to continue working on. We have to change some things. Sometimes I see that I have more pressure than others in terms of braking on the data, but I have less deceleration, so we have to solve this problem.

Satisfied but not fulfilled, Pecco Bagnaia clings to every opportunity to try to get even closer to the lead. "Today, this result makes me happy. We have to keep moving forward. Tomorrow there will be an important test to try to reduce the gap further. Little by little, these kinds of details help me gain confidence." he concluded, on the eve of a day of testing on the same Aragon circuit. Enough to confirm his first good impressions of the day?

Magnificent 3rd place for Bagnaia, and a return of confidence, which is crucial in sport. But what I don't understand from the beginning is why they don't give him the GP 24, from last season...? 😎👀🍾
