2022 MotoGP calendar: 21 GPs on the program

The calendar for the 2022 world championship season MotoGP has just been communicated by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). And no less than 21 Grands Prix are planned on the program.

This is the first time that the calendar includes so many events and among them we find Finland on the KymiRing circuit. Initially introduced in 2020, the Finnish GP was canceled just like in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The big news is above all the return of Indonesia to the calendar. The country has organized two GPs in the past, it was in 1996 and 1997 at the Sentul circuit. In 2022, the Indonesian GP will take place on the island of Lombok in Mandalika. The circuit is not yet finished and it is still not officially approved. The very first international event to be held there will be the final round of the superbike world championship scheduled for November 19 to 21, 2021 (one week after the last meeting of the Asia Talent Cup, a cup intended for young Asian riders) .

Note that Portugal is taking advantage of the Czech Republic's withdrawal this year to once again find a place on the provisional calendar.

Obviously, this schedule is provisional and may change depending on the health situation around the world.
