Arriving in Austria with a three-point lead over Pecco Bagnaia in the Drivers' championship, Jorge Martin limited the damage after an error in the Sprint, finishing second. The two men therefore entered the Sunday race tied.

During the Sunday race, however, the reigning world champion crushed his opponent, to regain the lead of the championship and create a lead of five units leaving Austria.

In addition to this major change, the Pilots ranking MotoGP evolves little. At KTM, Brad Binder regained the status of first rider of the brand by seizing sixth place until then defended by Pedro Acosta.

Pol Espargaro took advantage of a successful weekend to take 23rd place in the table, with a total of six points. He is now one length behind his counterpart, Dani Pedrosa.

fabio quartararo remains the first Japanese woman in the ranking despite a goalless score in Austria. Same observation for Johann Zarco, in the ranking of Honda drivers.
