Will there be a Ducati raid at home on the Tuscan circuit of Mugello? The Italian bikes gave themselves the best chance by securing the front row in qualifying this morning. The two factory Ducatis of Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia are ahead of Alex Marquez's Gresini. However, they will have to be wary of the Yamaha of fabio quartararo (4th) and the KTM of Maverick Viñales (5th). The Spaniard has been particularly comfortable since the start of the weekend and can aim for the first podium of the season for the Austrian manufacturer. Johann Zarco will be 14th.

???? Thank you all for joining us for this sprint race of the Italian GP of MotoGPJoin us tomorrow at AUTOhebdo.fr to follow the main race, which will start at 14 p.m. Have a great Saturday, everyone!

🇫🇷 A day to forget for the French: Johann Zarco fell at the start, a collateral victim of Brad Binder's crash, which knocked him down. Fabio Quartararo, who started 4th, slipped inexorably down the standings until he dropped out of the points on the final lap (10th).

📊 The final ranking of the sprint race

🏁 MARC MARQUEZ VICTORY! It's the ninth double for the Marquez siblings in as many sprint races this season, as Alex Marquez finishes second, ahead of Pecco Bagnaia, who held off Maverick Viñales at the end of the race.

11/11 – LAST ROUND! Aldeguer passes Quartararo, who leaves the points...

10 / 11 - Quartararo is 9th, now overtaken by Raul Fernandez and threatened by Fermin Aldeguer.

9/11 – The standings with three laps to go

9 / 11 - Marco Bezzecchi takes 6th place from Franco Morbidelli while Maverick Viñales closes in on Pecco Bagnaia's 3rd place.

8 / 11 - Pecco Bagnaia looks back at Alex Marquez. Will he be able to deny the brothers a ninth consecutive sprint race double?

7 / 11 - It was Marco Bezzecchi's turn to overtake the Frenchman, who was in great difficulty with his Yamaha.

7 / 11 - Franco Morbidelli also passes to Quartararo, his former teammate at Yamaha.

6 / 11 - Sharp attack from Di Giannantonio who takes 5th place from Fabio Quartararo.

6 / 11 - Marc Marquez leads by 0.5 seconds over Alex Marquez, who is not letting himself be pulled away.

5 / 11 - Maverick Viñales easily passes Fabio Quartararo on the straight, powered by a KTM engine far superior to Yamaha's. The Frenchman is now threatened by the Ducati VR46s behind him.

4 / 11 - Marc Marquez took the lead after a superb braking performance at the end of the start/finish straight. He now leads Alex Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, who sees Quartararo and Viñales close in.

3 / 11 - The provisional classification

2 / 11 -  Tensions are rising among the VR46 drivers. Fabio Di Giannantonio takes 6th place from Franco Morbidelli. The Italian was the one who touched Binder at the start and caused him to fall. A simple racing incident.

2/11 – 💥 Acosta falls in the last sector, while in front the Marquez brothers have passed authoritatively on Pecco Bagnaia, who remains in contact.

1 / 11 - Marc Marquez took third place from Fabio Quartararo, now 4th ahead of the KTMs of Maverick Viñales and Pedro Acosta.

15:02 p.m. – 🟢 THE SPRINT RACE IS ON! Marc Marquez had a problem at the start and handed the lead to Pecco Bagnaia. Behind, Binder crashed, taking the unfortunate Johann Zarco with him.

15 p.m. – 👀WARM-UP LAP! The sky is darkening on the horizon... Will rain hit Mugello before the end of the Sprint?

14h55 - Just five minutes left until the start: will Bagnaia, who has been imperial at Mugello in previous years, be able to knock the Marquez brothers off their pedestal?

14h50 - There are stars in the VR46 garage: Valentino Rossi is joined by Mark Cavendish, the record-breaking sprinter for Tour de France victories, and DJ Carl Cox. Isack Hadjar is also present alongside his friend Fabio Quartararo.

14h45 - In the Sprint Championship, there's Marquez... and the others. Marc Marquez has won seven of the first eight races of the season, the only one that eluded him being his brother Alex. The two brothers have consistently finished in the top two places in the 2025 season.

14h40 - Marc Marquez has secured his 100th pole position in the world championship... at his great rival Valentino Rossi's.

"I'm very happy because it's a real pole position, without slipstreaming, all alone on the track trying to find where the limit is," he explained in the Parc Fermé. “It was a good lap, and I'm happy to do it on a circuit where Pecco and Álex are supposed to be faster than me on paper. I'm on pole, the race pace doesn't look bad either, but we have to stay patient and careful because the heat in the afternoon could change everything. For now, we're on target, and I'm looking forward to fighting in the Sprint and the Grand Prix.”
