Four years have passed since his world champion title. Since his first and only coronation, fabio quartararo has been through just about every emotion: runner-up to Pecco Bagnaia in 2022, he has since been confined to fighting for positions unworthy of his rank.

Yamaha has been lagging behind the competition since 2013 and the Japanese are trying to gradually close the gap. The first big step forward was taken at the end of last season, when improvements finally paid off. Fabio Quartararo took three consecutive 7th places and a 6th in Malaysia, at the penultimate round of the year, proof of his bike's renewed performance.

Second time in the post-season tests, the day after the last Grand Prix in Barcelona, the Nice native is on a positive dynamic that he hopes to continue in 2025. "We are starting a new season for MotoGP and a new chapter for Yamaha.” he explains after the revelation of the liveries of Yamaha and Pramac, which has become the support team of the Japanese manufacturer this year.

Quartararo "even happier and more motivated" thanks to the arrival of Pramac

“As a MotoGP rider you are always excited to start the new season, to try the new bike, to see the new livery in action. However, this time the first test is even more exciting for us because Yamaha is about to start a big project with Pramac. I know everyone is very eager to start working together in the pre-season tests, and this makes me even happier and more motivated.” A major cause championed by Fabio Quartararo, the arrival of a support team will be an important help in trying to develop Yamaha's M1. The Frenchman and his teammate Alex Rins will benefit from the experience of Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira, who came from KTM and Trackhouse Aprilia.

The arrival of Pramac helps balance the forces on the starting grid: Yamaha, KTM, Aprilia and Honda now all have four riders, while Ducati goes from 8 to 6. The Japanese, who also benefit from the concessions granted to the most struggling manufacturers (Yamaha and Honda), have a significant gap to make up on the Ducati and will have to target Aprilia and KTM before that. "I've been training non-stop, so I'm at a good level." continues Fabio Quartararo, very motivated before starting the season. “I think I’m fitter than ever, and I can’t wait to start pre-season testing. The sooner we can race, the sooner we’ll see the fans cheering us on again.”

All four Yamaha riders will take to the track for the first time at Sepang (Malaysia) during pre-season testing from February 5 to 7.
