FIM unveils its first anthem - FIM

For the first time in its 120-year history, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) has commissioned its own anthem. It was first played at its Intercontinental Games in Jerez earlier this month, without any prior announcement. Then at the FIM Awards in Palma de Mallorca a little later. The governing body of the world motorcycle championships is now making the new tune official.

A project that is part of the rebranding of the institution, which had already modernized its logo. The FIM assures that this anthem will be an integral part of the weekends of the many championships it supervises in the future, such as the MotoGP.
The work was composed by the Italian Enzo Dalla Gassa, under the direction of his compatriot Andrea Grigolato. It was then a Budapest orchestra that took charge of playing the score in Hungary. Passionate about motor sports since a young age, its composer was naturally proud of the role he played in the creation of the anthem.

A long-standing project for the FIM

"I was born surrounded by engines. I love anything that can be fast, assures Enzo Livio Gilles Dalla Gassa. This opportunity was pure magic for me. I am deeply grateful. The whole journey, from composing this anthem to presenting it at the FIM Awards, was my greatest experience in music so far. It was a great honour for me to compose this anthem for this legendary sports federation.”

This speed enthusiast nevertheless took his time to deliver his work. The project had, in fact, been commissioned for several years. As confirmed by Jorge Viegas, elected president of the FIM in 2018.

“The idea of having an FIM anthem is something that started shortly after I joined the FIM, entrusts the framework of the federation. Having the opportunity to finally bring this concept to life at the end of the 120th anniversary celebrations is something I am very proud of. Like the new logo, the anthem represents the future plans and aspirations of the FIM. It consolidates the FIM family in another way.”
