- After the sensational qualification of fabio quartararoThe Frenchman attempts to defend his pole position at Le Mans, while the weather is still on the drivers' side. As the lights go out, and despite Marc Marquez's attempts, Fabio Quartararo maintains his advantage, to the applause of the Le Mans crowd.
- The No. 20 thus completed the first lap in the lead, with a six-tenths advantage over the Marquez brothers. Behind, Pecco Bagnaia lost control of his machine and fell in sector 1.
- Determined not to let another Sprint victory slip away, Marc Marquez set a new race lap record and closed in on Quartararo's Yamaha. After four laps, the two men were separated by three tenths, with the Frenchman in favor.
- The Ducati rider attempted a first attack at Turn 1 on the fifth lap, without success. He then showed great aggression behind the Frenchman, who resisted. On the following lap, the two leaders engaged in an intense battle in Sector 1, during which Marc Marquez took the lead at Turn 2, before losing the lead again at Turn 3. A few corners later, he launched a decisive attack on Fabio Quartararo and took control of the race.
The Marquez brothers on the way to another double
- Beaten by one of the Marquez brothers, the 2021 world champion suffered a comeback from the second-place finisher. Alex Marquez followed in the Frenchman's wake and quickly overtook him as well. He then had a five-tenths lead over Fermin Aldeguer as he attempted to salvage a podium finish in the sprint on home soil.
- Two laps later, the two men engaged in a heated duel, and the Spaniard nearly knocked the Frenchman's Yamaha off the road by bumping into him in the second sector. Fabio Quartararo was forced to let go, but remained a respectable distance from the Iberian's Gresini.
- Despite his efforts, Quartararo could not compete with the Ducati riders ahead of him. Marc Marquez thus won his sixth consecutive Sprint, breaking the record set by Jorge Martin at the end of the 2023 season. He was once again closely followed by his younger brother. Fermin Aldeguer completed the top three, the first of his career in MotoGP.
- Pedro Acosta crashed in the final corner while defending a top-5 finish. This incident promoted Maverick Viñales, who was riding just behind him, to the top KTM.
- Johann Zarco finished sixth in the Sprint, allowing the French to record their best combined result of the season on Saturday at their home race.
- Note the fall of Brad Binder at the start of the race, and the serious consequences of Marco Bezzecchi's exit from the track, who went into the gravel shortly before the halfway point.
- Fabio Quartararo will have another opportunity to defend his pole position this Sunday, in the main race of the French MotoGP GP, which will start at around 14:00 p.m.
