We can't stop it anymore! Francesco Bagnaia is the man of the moment MotoGP and he proves it again on the MotorLand circuit in Aragon. The Italian signed his 5th pole position of the season with a new track record, in 1'46″069. The Ducati rider, who remains on 4 consecutive victories, leads a Ducati hat-trick since Jack Miller (2nd, +0″090) and Enea Bastianini (3rd, +0″244) complete the first row. On the French side, the two French drivers will start from the 2nd row, with Johann Zarco (5th, +0″577) in front fabio quartararo (6rd, +0″733).

Ducati hat-trick, Quartararo close to correctional

The Grands Prix follow one another and are similar for the Ducatis. The Italian horses once again took the first places, thanks in particular to their top speed. Very fast in the last sector in particular, the Desmosedici GP dominated Q2 in Alcañiz. The two official Ducatis, like two weeks ago in Misano, signed a new double, ahead of the future official rider, Enea Bastianini. Jack Miller, who tried the gamble of putting on a soft tire at the front, failed to make the pass two after his pole at Misano. Aleix Espargaro, who went through Q1, achieved a good 4th place but far from the Bologna bikes.

Arriving behind his compatriot Johann Zarco, Fabio Quartararo suffered a big scare in his penultimate attempt. While trying to compensate for the Yamaha's lack of pace, the Niçois almost lost his mount in turn 2.

4-way battle for the two places in Q2

The qualifying session for the Aragon Grand Prix was quite special, since several big names had to take the track from Q1. Johann Zarco, Marc Marquez, Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales: four regulars at the front for two places in Q2, the battle promised to be tough...

For his first Grand Prix after 4 months of absence, Marc Marquez could have made an impression, with a first time below 1'47. This was without counting on Johann Zarco then Aleix Espargaro, who improved in their last attempt. The Spaniard posted a 1'46"569, just 3 tenths off the track record at MotorLand. Maverick Viñales, in good form for several Grands Prix, fell for the first time this season in his last flying lap in Q1, at turn 2. The Aprilia rider, who will start 16th, caused a yellow flag in sector 1 fatal for Marc Marquez, who could not improve. The eight-time world champion will have to start from 13th place.
