Aprilia delivered a humbling lesson to Ducati on home soil, finishing the Italian Grand Prix weekend – dominated from start to finish by Noale – with a one-two finish! While Pecco Bagnaia led the early laps, the RS-GP bikes, whose pace dropped significantly less than the Ducati's in the second half of the race, quickly closed in on the Italian to take control of the race and build a substantial gap.
At the finish, Marco Bezzecchi, followed by Jorge Martín 3,5 seconds behind, had a lead of more than 5 seconds over the first Ducati. The Italian secured his first home victory, becoming the sixth Italian to win at Mugello after Loris Capirossi. Valentino Rossi, Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci and Francesco Bagnaia.
Ducati, in fact, came close to a more severe defeat. In the closing laps of the race, Ai Ogura closed in on Pecco Bagnaia, attempting an overtake in the final corner. The Italian, however, intelligently resisted to maintain his podium position and salvage some pride for Borgo Panigale on home soil.

Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the top five, having spent most of the race behind Pedro Acosta and Marc Márquez. Sprint winner Raúl Fernández had hoped for a better result in the main race. However, the Trackhouse rider ran wide at the first corner after a good start. He eventually climbed back up the order to finish eighth.
