Raúl Fernández left no chance for his rivals this Saturday afternoon at the Mugello circuit. Starting second on the grid for the Italian GP Sprint, his best qualifying result, the Spaniard got off to a good start and took the lead after a few corners, never relinquishing it.
After building a lead of over a second on Jorge Martín, he remained calm when the record holder for Sprint victories (18) closed the gap. At the end of the twelve laps, the Trackhouse driver secured his and his team's first Saturday triumph. He also became the 11th different winner in the Sprint series since the format's introduction in 2023.
Second, Jorge Martín gained some valuable points on Marco Bezzecchi (4th) in the championship. Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the podium, with a Ducati that doesn't seem able to compete against the Aprilias on home soil.
Despite an excellent start, which saw him take the lead in the Sprint from the first braking point, Marc Márquez lost several positions following contact with Jorge Martín on the first lap, and finished 5th in the Sprint. An excellent result for someone returning from injury.
No points scored but Diogo Moreira's performance didn't go unnoticed today 👏#ItalianGP 🇮🇹 pic.twitter.com/lO9GBBg4Ad

While Marc Márquez's start was impressive, Diogo Moreira's was even more so. The Brazilian rider, 8th in Q2, completed the first lap in the top 3 before being overtaken by the Ducatis and Aprilias – much faster than his Honda – throughout the race. He ultimately finished 10th, just missing out on points.
Note the crashes of Enea Bastianini and Franco Morbidelli during the 5th lap of the race, in different corners.
