Pedro Acosta found his feet most quickly in Goiania. While the drivers of MotoGP On Friday afternoon, the Spaniard set the fastest time in FP1 for the Brazilian GP with a time of 1:26.688, to establish a first benchmark on this track.

The session was originally scheduled for an hour earlier but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions. With the region experiencing severe flooding this week, the track remained waterlogged until late morning, disrupting the day's schedule.

Held on a track with changing conditions, the lap times achieved don't allow for a clear hierarchy to be established. Especially since the teams, lacking reference points in Goiânia, spent the hour of testing studying different solutions to define a baseline setup for the weekend.

During the last ten minutes, however, the wind calmed down and the sun came out, allowing the riders to push a little harder. Jack Miller caused a surprise by setting the second fastest time in FP1, ahead of Marco Bezzecchi. Marc Márquez, who had led the timesheets for most of the session, finished with the fourth fastest time.

Returning to competition after fracturing his femur in training, Fermín Aldeguer completed his first laps of the year on a MotoGP bike. The Spaniard delivered a rather impressive session, securing the 8th fastest time overall, behind Jorge Martín – who had briefly led – and ahead of Pecco Bagnaia. His teammate Álex Márquez fared less well, finishing last in the top 10.

On the French side, Johann Zarco finished FP1 in 15th place, as the best Honda rider. The Frenchman's bikes were equipped with two different gearboxes and two different swingarm lengths, allowing him to choose the optimal configuration. fabio quartararo He finished 22nd and last, nearly three seconds behind the benchmark and his Australian teammate at Yamaha.

While Pedro Acosta set the fastest time in the session, in the stands, all the Brazilian fans were behind Diogo Moreira. The local rider, welcomed like a true star in the paddock, completed the first session of the weekend with a time of 1:28.678, securing 18th place overall.

As a reminder, the riders had more track time during FP1 to acclimatize to the circuit. They will return to the track for an additional hour of running at 20:00 PM French time. This session will send the top 10 riders directly into Q2 of this Brazilian MotoGP Grand Prix.
