- The first session of the weekend begins in MotoGP in Indonesia, and has some surprises in store for us. If at the start of the session, the Ducatis claim the leading positions as usual, the GP24s ahead of the GP23s, the hierarchy does not take long to change.
- Maverick Viñales will come to steal the lead of the standings for a while, before Takaaki Nakagami creates a surprise. One could then say that it is only a coincidence, but the new aerodynamics of the Honda riders seem to be working for them in Mandalika, since Johann Zarco will also place himself in provisional first place, dislodging Jorge Martin from his throne.
- As the session progressed, the Frenchman continued to string together fast laps to maintain a place at the front.
- Before the checkered flag, four brands occupy the top-5. If Franco Morbidelli finally finishes in front, in 1:30.689, Maverick Viñales, Jorge Martin and Pedro Acosta occupy a top-5 completed by… Johann Zarco.
- The Frenchman thus achieved his best start to a weekend of the season with the Japanese brand. His teammate Nakagami finished 11th.

- fabio quartararo tumbles down the rankings, after having risen to the forefront for a while. The Nice native finished in fifteenth place, just ahead of his teammate Alex Rins, and just behind Pecco Bagnaia.
- However, it is still too early to say whether the ranking of these EL1s is representative of the hierarchy in place at Mandalika. Everything remains to be confirmed this afternoon during the Tests.
- Note the fall of Miguel Oliveira, who lost precious time at the start of the weekend in Indonesia. See you around 10:00 am, to discover the result of the MotoGP Tests.
