At Silverstone this Saturday, it was Johann Zarco who was the fastest. For the resumption of MotoGP, the Habs gained confidence by setting the best qualifying time in 1'57″767. In pole position ahead of Maverick Viñales and Jack Miller, the Pramac driver was full of confidence in Great Britain, allowing himself to recover the track record. So obviously finding himself in the lead with almost a tenth in advance, it was with a big smile that Johann Zarco celebrated his second pole of the season after Portugal.

« As I said, it's a legendary circuit and being able to be comfortable and fast on it is even a source of pride. So happy. It’s true that this 57″7 is beautiful », explains Johann Zarco at the microphone of Canal +. At the very end of the session, while the drivers placed themselves one by one on provisional pole, it was the Frenchman who jumped up the standings with less than a minute remaining in the timer. “ The first rubber I felt pretty good, the 58″4 came pretty good. I didn't do a second lap to save energy and there we knew that as the circuit is big that the first lap on the tire is important and there were no problems all that so it was perfect . There were just a few guys in the spotlight who provided additional motivation and good benchmarks, making them very happy », analyzes the Cannes resident.

Zarco's first victory?

With this pole position, the Habs are regaining confidence after several falls since the first laps of the circuit this week at Silverstone. “ There were two falls but I had the energy after the good summer break to try things, I have to gain comfort on the bike but I also have to push to find the limits and then it becomes interesting. I hope we have a good rhythm tomorrow », Announces Johann Zarco. On Sunday, the Pramac driver will have to be wary of the return of Maverick Viñales and Jack Miller. But the Frenchman can potentially touch the holy grail in MotoGP and finally achieve his first victory of his career.
