The season of the reigning world champion MotoGP starts very badly. Since the beginning of 2025, Jorge Martin has been facing significant complications.

His pre-season testing in Sepang took a dramatic turn when he suffered a violent fall, resulting in fractures to his right hand and left foot. The incident required surgery, which was successfully performed in Barcelona. Despite the positive outcome, Martín's recovery was a race against time.

The number 1 was forced to miss the tests in Thailand, before returning to training. However, an incident put an end to his hopes of returning for the first round of the season in training, as the Spaniard injured his hand once again, and will have to undergo surgery this Tuesday morning. His recovery time is therefore not yet known.

His withdrawal from the Thailand Grand Prix has however been confirmed by Aprilia. "Jorge Martin suffered a complex fracture of the radius, some left carpal bones and an ipsilateral calcaneal fracture during a training session. Following a surgical consultation, Martin will miss the Thailand Grand Prix and the recovery time will be determined after the operation. Lorenzo Savadori will replace Martin in Thailand."

He will be replaced by Lorenzo Savadori, so it can be assumed that the Spaniard is aiming for a return for the Argentine Grand Prix, which will take place two weeks later (March 14-16).

The Aprilia riders are definitely suffering from a series of injuries. In addition to Jorge Martin's two falls, Raúl Fernández fractured a finger in Sepang, the same day as his compatriot.
