Pre-season testing for the 2025 season of MotoGP have just started, and already promise to be eventful. While all the riders have returned to the track, many have opened their crash counter. The reigning world champion, Jorge Martin, sadly opened the show with two heavy falls in his first laps. The second, more serious, earned him a visit to the hospital.

The incident happened at the second corner of the Sepang International Circuit, and affected the Spaniard in the left foot and right hand.

After being taken to the circuit medical centre, Jorge Martin was transported to the Aurelius Hospital in Nilai, six kilometres from the site where the tests are taking place. More information on the Aprilia rider's condition will be communicated to us during the day. Jorge Martin therefore took very little advantage of this first day of testing, which was nevertheless busy in Sepang.

Aprilia's busy schedule

Still in the process of discovering the Aprilia RS-GP, like his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, the aim of these first hours of riding was to familiarize himself with the bike and the mechanical and electronic settings.

Both riders were also riding the version of the bike tested in Barcelona. Aprilia had reserved the afternoon to test the new parts on its 2025 bike. It remains to be seen whether the number 1 will be there or not for the rest of the events.

Aprilia's woes did not end there on the morning of the first day of testing at Sepang. Raul Fernandez, of Noale's satellite team, Trackhouse Racing, then suffered an injury in a crash. The Spaniard suffered a fractured toe, as well as the metacarpal bone on his left hand.

For his part, Marco Bezzecchi has already completed a few dozen laps, and is clocking a time of 1:59.865 a few hours before the end of the first day of testing at Sepang.
