Who will be lined up alongside Francesco Bagnaia next season at Ducati? This is the question that Jorge Martín and Enea Bastianini are currently asking themselves. The two drivers are the two options considered to evolve with the Italian driver. If before the start of the season, the Madrilenian was considered the logical choice for the Italian manufacturer, the performances of Jorge Martín in 2022 do not really speak in his favor. On the contrary, Enea Bastianini's three victories probably tipped the scales in her favor.

But the Spaniard remains determined to prove that he deserves to get the handlebars of Jack Miller within the official Ducati team. “ This weekend is going to be very important. These two weeks also because it's just before Ducati's "decision" for the next season », explains Jorge Martín in an interview for motogp.com

But the Spaniard is not going to put enormous pressure on his shoulders. “ My future depends a little on this decision but it won't change much if I stay at Pramac or I go to Ducati. From a technical point of view it will be 100% the same », Estimates the Spaniard.

Regularity objective for Jorge Martín

Even though the technical support is identical, both drivers want this place on a factory team. So to obtain it, the performances on the track will once again be carefully scrutinized. “ I'm quite calm and the objective is to obtain results, to be able to fight for the podium and the victory. Because with our potential, we are capable of it. We are 100% focused. My physical condition is much better, I no longer have pain in my body so it's time to concentrate on the race because that's what's important “, says Jorge Martín.

From Silverstone, the Spaniard will try to regain consistency at Pramac. An important aspect for the championship that he failed to keep during the first 11 races. “ This rest period was important for me after a very stressful first part of the season, with many accidents and incidents. Even though we got two podiums and pole positions, I wasn't happy. So now it's time to concentrate 100%, get the most out of our bike and for sure we will fight for podiums in every race », Announces the Madrilenian. If the Spaniard is ambitious, he has two races left to prove to Paolo Ciabatti, Ducati's Sporting Director, that he has the ability to evolve with Pecco Bagnaia.
