The reigning champion of MotoGPJorge Martin continues to make progress in his recovery from a serious left hand injury. The injury, which occurred during preseason training, caused him to miss the first three rounds of the 2025 season, in Thailand, Argentina, and the United States.

The Aprilia rider, however, recently received encouraging news for a quick return to competition during a control X-ray.

"Jorge Martin had a follow-up X-ray yesterday. The assessment is positive, as a bone callus is clearly visible at the level of the scaphoid fracture. The synthetic screw is well positioned and well tolerated, confirming the expected and correct result of the operation." Aprilia informed us this Wednesday afternoon, ten days before the start of the next round in Qatar.

Jorge Martin therefore continues to aim for a return to competition at the Qatar Grand Prix, scheduled for April 11-13 at the Losail International Circuit. His participation in the event, however, remains conditional on a final medical examination on site.

A complicated return for Jorge Martin

Martin has recently resumed physical activity. He shared photos of his return to training on his social media, announcing: “I’m restarting, 100% focused on my recovery! Let’s go.”

The 2024 world champion's return is eagerly awaited by many of his peers, but especially by Aprilia. If Jorge Martin manages to return for Qatar, he will benefit from all the information gathered by Lorenzo Savadori, who has completed three stints in his absence with the mission of facilitating the number 1's return.

The main player himself has also remained close to the circuits. He was notably present in Austin last weekend, to support his team there during the Grand Prix of the Americas.
