KTM has just reached a crucial milestone in its financial recovery process. In November 2024, the company initiated a judicial restructuring procedure with self-management, aimed at establishing a restructuring plan with its creditors within 90 days.

On February 25, the restructuring plan was approved by creditors, and provides for a partial repayment of debts of up to 30% in the form of a single payment. To honor this commitment, KTM will have to pay the considerable sum of 548 million euros by May 23, 2025 at the latest.

The decision marks a turning point for KTM's future. Once the payment is made, the court is expected to confirm the restructuring plan in early June 2025, thus ending the restructuring proceedings.

“Today I am grateful and happy, entrusts Gottfried Neumeister, CEO of PIERER Mobility AG. KTM is back on track. Our people have given their all over the last three months to ensure that the race can continue. Today we have closed an important chapter.”

The adventure continues for KTM

At the same time, measures have been taken to ensure the gradual resumption of production from mid-March 2025. Funding of EUR 50 million from the extended shareholder group has been allocated to KTM AG to cover the costs associated with this restart. This amount, now released following the approval of the restructuring plan, will enable the company to restart its activities in a controlled and efficient manner.

“Now we can continue the great KTM story, Neumeister continues. We do this for the millions of KTM fans around the world. We are grateful every day. For our racing drivers, of whom we are damn proud. And for our location in Austria. To which we are deeply attached. KTM remains one of the best employers in the Upper Austrian industry.

This financial restructuring offers KTM AG an opportunity to start anew on a more solid footing. The company will thus be able to concentrate on the development of its activities, including high-level competition, such as MotoGP, and strengthening its position in the motorized two-wheeler market.
