The 2025 season will welcome the return of a historic route

This Wednesday August 28 was full of announcements in the world of MotoGP. After the formalized agreements between Ducati and Gresini, and the formalization of the signing of Fermin Aldeguer to Faenza, discipline announces his big return to the Czech Republic.

The premier category of speed races has just announced that it will return to Brno from next year, and until 2029. Appreciated by all for being a classic track, the site no longer welcomed the arrival of the paddock since the 2020 season.

Since the creation of the world championships 75 years ago, 50 Grand Prix have been organized there. The first of them dating from 1965. These events first took place on a road circuit in the region. The Automotodrom Brno appeared on the calendar in 1987.

The venue went on to host a round of the world championship every year for over 30 years. With the exception of the 1992 season.

One more GP in MotoGP for 2025?

If all the Grands Prix scheduled at the start of this year were to retain their place on the calendar, this addition would bring the number of meetings to 23. Which would generate a total of 46 events, Sprint included. Please note that no date has yet been communicated for the future Czech MotoGP GP.

However, it may also be the case that an event on the calendar is not able to be organized. This could be the case for Qatar which will lose its slot in March following a conflict of dates with Ramadan. As could be the case for the Kazakhstan GP. Canceled multiple times due to the delay accumulated during the approval work.
