Spain is once again hit by severe weather and flooding. Four months after the deadly floods that hit the Valencian Community, The south of the country is on alert again with torrential rains hitting Andalusia and Murcia. Nearly 180 millimetres of water fell locally this Monday, in the two southern regions of Spain. And the Jerez circuit did not escape the storm.

The Andalusian track was hit hard by these severe storms and was submerged in some places, particularly at the facilities. In some amateur videos published on social networks, you can see the paddock completely flooded under a good metre of water, as well as the track at the start-finish line, above the glass "saucer".

In another video, the Angel Nieto circuit can be seen buried under huge expanses of water in the heart of the enclosure.

For now, it is not known whether any damage has been caused by these floods, but looking at the images, it is difficult to imagine that the facilities of the Jerez circuit have remained intact. A delicate situation for the Andalusian circuit, which is supposed to host the Spanish MotoGP Grand Prix on April 27. Before that, a race of the Spanish Superbike championship is to be organized on the Angel Nieto circuit on March 23. At present, the circuit has not communicated on the state of the place, nor on the holding of the next events following these floods.

Four months ago, at the end of October 2024, the floods that had hit the Valencian Community – which had left 232 dead – had forced MotoGP to relocate its final round to Barcelona, in Catalonia. The pre-season tests of Formula E had also had to be postponed and organised in Madrid, on the Jarama circuit.
