Championship standings after Thailand GP sprint

Tonight, if you see a huge party in Catalonia, don't be surprised: for the first time in their careers, the Marquez brothers are first and second in the championship. The two Spaniards took the double in the sprint race, Marc taking his first victory with Ducati in his first race, while Alex made a perfect transition from the Desmosedici GP-23 to the GP-24 by taking second place.

The eldest of the siblings thus pocketed the 12 points promised to the winner, which makes him the first leader of the championship. Marc Marquez had not led the general classification since the 2019 Valencia Grand Prix, when he won his 6th world champion title.

Will the Ducati rider still be in the lead on Sunday morning after the Grand Prix? Everything will depend on a race that is doubly more rewarding in terms of points, in which Marc Marquez will start in the lead after securing his 67th pole position in MotoGP this morning. On the starting grid, the Spaniard is ahead of Alex Marquez and his teammate Francesco Bagnaia.
