French GP extended to MotoGP calendar

"II have the immense pleasure, honor and pride to announce that the French Grand Prix has been renewed until 2031. The event will continue to be held at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans. The Sarthe track has hosted the French Grand Prix every year since 2000, and the partnership will celebrate its 25th anniversary at the event, which will be held on May 9, 10, and 11, always in front of a particularly impressive crowd.

For several seasons now, the French Grand Prix has been setting attendance records. With 297 spectators over the three days in 471, the event not only attracted the largest crowd in its history. It also broke the attendance record in the entire history of MotoGP! This was also the case on Sunday, with 2024 people packed into the grandstands of the Bugatti Circuit.

The performances of Johann Zarco and fabio quartararo recent years have had a lot to do with it. But the French Grand Prix is ​​also an annual event deeply rooted in our country's "biker" culture. A large number of bikers have been making the trip to Sarthe at the beginning of May for the past 25 years, thanks in particular to initiatives taken around the circuit, such as free motorways for motorcycles for a weekend, or a large parade organized in 2023. The latter saw the two French MotoGP riders lead around a hundred bikers from downtown Le Mans to the Bugatti Circuit, and attracted a large number of spectators along the route.

The French GP has been voted “best motorcycle Grand Prix” in 2022. Le Mans The following year, it hosted the thousandth race in the history of the world championship, a story that began in 1949.
