15 different drivers on the podium

During season 2023 of MotoGP, 15 different drivers – including at least one per manufacturer – climbed onto one of the three steps of the podium on Sunday.

A mark already reached in 2020 and 2021 which once again equals the record for the discipline under its current name. In total, 68,2% of the grid was seen on the box over the 20 weekends of competition.

Two 100% independent podiums

If Pramac Racing became the first independent team to win the team championship in the MotoGP era, the other independent teams also shone this season.

In total, ten victories can be attributed to them, all won by Jorge Martín (4), Marco Bezzecchi (3), Alex Rins (1), Johann Zarco (1) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (1).

More rare this time, the riders of these teams have twice locked 100% of the available places on a podium, in Argentina and in France, which had only happened twice before in MotoGP (Qatar 2004 and Portugal 2020) .

17 Ducati victories

The Bologna manufacturer had an exceptional season in 2023, which saw it finish in first position in all but three of the twenty events.

Nine Sprint successes

By winning nine times on Saturday, Jorge Martín established a mark that will certainly be difficult to reach next year. Behind him, Francesco Bagnaia is the second highest winner in Sprint with four achievements, while Brad Binder and Alex Marquez complete the podium with two trophies each.

Bezzecchi and Aleix Espargaro also won once each, and represent the last two winners of this season comprising 19 shortened events, that of the Australian Grand Prix not having taken place.

Official statistics compiled by Dr. Thomas Morsellino.
