Electric Ducati V21Ls ready to hit the track

A year after Ducati test rider Michele Pirro's first laps at the Misano circuit, the Borgo Panigale factory is ready to deliver the first Ducati V21Ls to MotoE competitors. 18 motorcycles are expected on the track each race weekend.

While on a thermal motorcycle the engine is an integral part of the chassis structure, on the V21L the carbon fiber box housing the battery will ensure this structural role. The Ducati MotoE has a total weight of 225 kg, including 110 kg for the battery pack alone, and claims a power of 110 kW (150 hp) and a torque of 140 Nm. Its maximum speed is set at 275 km/h, a mark that it should have no trouble achieving on circuits such as Mugello (Italy).

The manufacturer ensures that each of the prototypes assembled by the technicians of its MotoE Racing department meets the same standards of quality and excellence as the machines entered in the World Championship. MotoGP. When we know that Ducati will provide this season 8 Desmosedici GP to its official team and to the satellite teams Gresini, VR46 and Prima Pramac, it is obvious that the work does not scare the Italian manufacturer's teams!

The V21L will benefit greatly from the manufacturer's expertise in MotoGP, particularly in terms of electronic technologies and chassis dimensions for performances that are intended to be at the level of the exceptional Panigale V4.

Ducati places this commitment in a virtuous environmental process alongside research into synthetic fuels. The construction of a new “Finitura e Delibera Estetica” factory, classified as a near-zero energy building, is only the latest example.

The MotoE World Cup will begin at the French Grand Prix and will run alongside MotoGP over 8 European rounds:

  • May 14: French Grand Prix (Le Mans)
  • June 11: Italian Grand Prix (Mugello)
  • June 18: German Grand Prix (Sachsenring)
  • June 25: Dutch Grand Prix (Assen)
  • August 6: British Grand Prix (Silverstone)
  • August 20: Austrian Grand Prix (Spielberg)
  • September 3: Catalan Grand Prix (Barcelona)
  • September 10: San Marino Grand Prix (Misano)
