At Tech3, the suspense will soon end, at least for one of the two bikes for 2023. Pit Beirer, responsible for rider recruitment as director at KTM, said that the identity of one of the two riders for the season next one will be revealed before the Austrian Grand Prix. “One of them is almost decided. But for the other motorcycle, everything remains open, he simply declared during FP4 at Silverstone. We think, we discuss our young pilots. We'll still have to wait a little longer. However, I think that by Red Bull Ring, we should finalize at least part of the box. »

According to the latest information, it is Pol Espargaró, currently at Honda, who would hold the rope to occupy a seat at Tech3. The Spaniard should leave his place to Joan Mir, forced to find a new team with the departure of Suzuki from MotoGP. The Catalan, who rode for KTM for four years, recently said his future was secure until 2024 and he would reveal it very soon.

Question mark for second driver at Tech3

If the Espargaro case is almost confirmed, the mystery remains regarding the second seat at Tech3. Nothing says that Remy Gardner and Raúl Fernández will continue the adventure given the difficulties encountered by the two rookies. KTM has not been kind to its two young recruits, despite their status as world champion and vice-champion in Moto2. In the event of non-renewal of the two pilots, Raúl Fernandez could land at RNF, which will operate Aprilia motorcycles in 2023. Remy Gardner could join WSBK, but seems better placed to keep his place at Tech3.

The name of Augusto Fernandez also stands out. The Madrilenian is on good momentum, currently leading the Moto2 championship. But he also experienced a long victory drought between 2019 and this year. A three-way match is therefore expected for the 2nd French motorcycle… unless there is a possible surprise.
