Michael Dunlop's dominance of the 2023 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy continued this Sunday afternoon which saw him beat the race record by almost a minute to win the first Superbike round after 1H43 intense effort aboard his premier class power monster. A 23rd victory in all categories which allows him to equal John McGuinness as the second most successful TT rider of all time.
Dunlop led the race from start to finish on the Hawk Racing Honda to win by 8,2 seconds over the BMW of Peter Hickman who put incredible pressure on Dunlop, completing his final lap at 135,445 mph ( 218 km/h) on average. Dean Harrison (Kawasaki) finished third again.

Competition resumes on Tuesday June 6 with the first Superstock and Supertwin races. Michael Dunlop set the best time in both series during qualifying this week and will once again appear on the starting grid with the leather of big favorite on his shoulders.
This victory brings him a little closer to the absolute record established by his uncle Joey Dunlop who died in 2000, who has 26 victories.
