Having only won once in Losail, Qatar, Marc Marquez will be doubly focused on his goals for this weekend. Knowing that his rivals have had better results in Doha in the past, the number 93 is concerned, acknowledging their competitiveness.
The Ducati rider has largely dominated the first three rounds of the season. He has only faltered once, in Austin, when he crashed while leading the race. The roles could therefore be more balanced in Qatar.
"I like this track, even though I've only won once and often finished second, confides Marc Marquez at a press conference this Thursday. It's a demanding circuit, and I expect Alex [Marquez] and Pecco [Bagnaia] to be my main rivals. In theory, they should finish ahead of me considering their history at Losail."
“After three races, a new championship begins here in Qatar, adds the former championship leader. Alex and Pecco's start to the season was really great. At the end of the year, we'll see who was the fastest."
As for the incident that occurred during the last round, the Spaniard admits his mistake. My crash in Austin? It's part of racing. You can make a mistake. I crashed while leading the race by a wide margin. I relaxed and I'm aware of the mistake I made. This weekend, we're starting from scratch. It's a difficult track for me and theoretically, if we look at race history, Pecco and Alex should come in front of me.
The Qatar Grand Prix nevertheless represents an important opportunity for Marquez, who is eager to regain control of the championship.

"Knowing that his opponents have had better results in Doha in the past." Marc Marquez's 3 best results in Doha: 1st, 2nd, and 2nd, or 65 points. Do the math for the others, and you'll see that this statement is false.
