Last Sunday at Mugello (Italy), Marc Marquez wrote a new chapter in his 2025 season, winning in front of a record crowd on his teammate's home turf. Winner of both the sprint and the main race, he also equaled the latter's record.

Last season, Pecco Bagnaia set the benchmark for one-two finishes, with five in 22 races. It took Marc Marquez just 10 races to match this statistic. The No. 93 won both the Sprint and Main Races at the first two rounds of the season, in Thailand and Argentina.

He then repeated the process in Qatar, before hitting a lull. He returned to the fray by dominating every session at the Aragon GP, then achieved his fifth perfect weekend of the season in Italy, at Ducati's home Grand Prix.

Mark is one victory away from the legendary Agostini in MotoGP

With this victory, Marquez also claims his 93rd victory in all categories. A number that recalls the one that has accompanied him on his fairing since the beginning of his career. This victory is his 67th in MotoGP, which puts him just one victory behind the legendary Giacomo Agostini, the second most successful driver in the history of the premier class.

To explore the multiple world champion's dominance with another statistic, the Mugello circuit became the 18th on which the latter has more than two MotoGP victories, since his debut in 2013.

Since he is never alone at the front, it is also worth noting that the Marquez brothers have recorded their fourth double in the main race this season. In the Sprint, they are still unbeaten, with nine goals.

If he wins Saturday's race this week at Assen, Marc Marquez would equal the record for sprint wins in a season. This statistic is held by Jorge Martin, with nine wins in twenty rounds during the 2023 season. Again, the Spaniard would equal this figure in just ten races.
