Changing teams is not so easy when a rider has been surrounded by the same sponsors since the beginning of his career. This is the dilemma that presented itself to Marc Marquez this year. Rider Red Bull For a long time, the Spaniard found an opportunity to join the ranks of the Ducati factory team. A team sponsored by Monster, a rival march of the Austrian giant.

This week, Marc Marquez took part in the last Red Bull event of the year, before cutting ties with the brand. Invited to Servus TV, owned by the energy drink, the multiple world champion paid tribute to the sponsor with whom he had so much success in MotoGP.

“This is my last official event, cMarquez confided in the program broadcast a few days ago. I am very happy to be here, at Red Bull. As you know, next year I am going to Ducati. I have been linked to Red Bull for more than fifteen years. But Ducati has another sponsor. I would have liked it to continue.

Although he may not be able to continue with Red Bull, and feature rival sponsors on his bike and helmet, Marc Marquez has not completely turned his back on the Red Bull.

"There have been many discussions. But out of respect for Red Bull, I will not be sponsored by Monster personally. Unfortunately, I cannot continue with Red Bull." adds Marc Marquez.

An opportunity for other sponsors

He does not close the door to a return to the Red Bull family in the future. However, we will have to wait until the end of his chapter in red. Or a possible withdrawal of Monster from the official Ducati team. I want to thank this incredible family and hope our paths cross again.”

Marc Marquez's helmet and water bottle, to name just two examples, are objects over which the rider retains control over his sponsors. Another of his long-time sponsors could therefore benefit. Spanish non-alcoholic beer, Estrella Galicia 0,0, which sponsors many riders, including the Marquez brothers, should seize the opportunity.

Note that the program broadcast on Servus TV was also an opportunity for Marc Marquez to chat with another multiple world champion. Max Verstappen, who has just won his fourth consecutive title in Formula 1, with the Red Bull Racing team, was also there.
