The Ducati team and its rider confirmed on Tuesday, May 26th, that Marc Márquez would be traveling to the Mugello circuit in Italy, with the aim of being able to compete in the Italian Grand Prix. MotoGP, the home race for its manufacturer, Ducati.

Having injured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot and undergone surgery immediately following the French Grand Prix sprint, Marc Márquez also had an operation to correct a problem with his right shoulder. Since his injury in Indonesia, the reigning world champion had been riding with screws and plates in his shoulder, and one of these screws was compressing a nerve, complicating the start of the season for the factory Ducati rider.

Marc Márquez will undergo final tests on Thursday by MotoGP doctors, who will determine whether or not he is fit to ride this weekend. His brother Álex, injured in Barcelona, ​​will logically not be on track this weekend and will be replaced by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer's test rider, Michele Pirro.
