It's no surprise: Marc Marquez will skip the Argentine GP scheduled for this weekend on the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit. The eight-time world champion, victim of a heavy fall during warm-up in Indonesia, is slowly recovering from a new episode of diplopia (double vision).
He went to the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona on Monday to meet his ophthalmologist, Dr. Sánchez Dalmau, who confided that this new examination showed a notable improvement and reaffirmed that the evolution of his vision is very favorable. “The second neuro-ophthalmological assessment carried out on Marc Marquez last Monday showed a very favorable evolution of the paralysis of the fourth right nerve affected by the fall during the Indonesian GP,” declares Dr Sánchez Dalmau. The recovery is not yet complete and Marc Marquez must continue the established therapeutic process through conservative treatment. »

The Repsol Honda Team rider has already shown very favorable improvements with his diplopia after visiting the Hospital Clínic and an examination from Dr. Sánchez Dalmau.

This Wednesday, the Repsol Honda team announced that it would call on Stefan Bradl, HRC test driver, to act as interim driver. As for whether Marquez will be in Austin, undefeated on this track in MotoGP (except in 2019…), next week… suspense.
