After the end of season testing in Valencia (November 28), where he already made a strong impression at the wheel of his new machine, Marc Marquez underwent an operation on his right arm.

The now Gresini Ducati rider revealed the day after the final laps of this 2023 season that he suffered from compartment syndrome – or muscle compartment compression syndrome – declaring that he suffered from it throughout the second half of his 2023 campaign.

“We resolved the problem after testing with Doctor Ignacio Roger de Oña, and will be ready for 2024! » reassures No. 93 on its social networks.

An operation which obviously anticipates any constraints for a return to the highest level before beginning his new adventure in the house of Bologna. If his contract with Honda – in force until December 31, 2023 – prevents him for the moment from talking about his first sensations behind the handlebars of his new machine, the Spaniard could not hide a sufficiently revealing smile.

Le MotoGP will make its return at the beginning of February in Sepang (Malaysia), with the first pre-season tests, before going to Qatar for other tests, followed by the first round of the 2024 championship which will also be held at Losail on the weekend from March 10.
