The dreaded rain was indeed on the agenda for the first free practice session MotoGP of the Dutch GP. On a wet track, Jack Miller, adept at these precarious conditions, set the best time in 1'42.589.
The Australian has a little more than a tenth on the Suzuki of Joan Mir and three on the Honda of Pol Espargaro. The third time of the opening session is to the credit of Alex Marquez while Aleix Espargaro completes the Top 5 on the handlebars of his Aprilia.

Miguel Oliviera places the first KTM in the hierarchy in sixth position ahead of Alex Rins, Johann Zarco, second representative of Ducati, Jorge Martin and Maverick Viñales who finished 10th despite a small detour through the gravel trap.
Francesco Bagnaia, for his part, took 11th time ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Brad Binder.
Two falls were to be deplored despite this wet track: Marco Bezzecchi and Enea Bastianini at the first turn.
