Miller takes the lead in Germany ahead of Bagnaia

In the absence of Marc Marquez, who is convalescing, everything is open this weekend at the Sachsenring. And it is two Ducatis who lead the way in the rankings of the first free practice session MotoGP.

Jack Miller was indeed the fastest with a lap of 1'21.479 (as a reminder, the circuit record is held by Marquez with a time of 1'20.195). The Australian, who will join the KTM clan next year, is 15 thousandths ahead of his teammate in the person of Francesco Bagnaia.

Winner in Barcelona, fabio quartararo occupies third place, just under two tenths from the benchmark. He is ahead of another Ducati, that of his compatriot Johann Zarco.

First Honda driver in the hierarchy, Takaaki Nakagami is in fifth position ahead of Aleix Espargaro's Aprilia, Luca Marini took the seventh time ahead of a surprising Andrea Dovizioso, who made a mistake during the session at the first corner. Jorge Martin, recently operated on his right hand, and Alex Marquez complete the Top 10.

Three other falls were reported, all at the first corner (one of the three right-hand corners of the Sachsenring), two for Pol Espargaro who was taken to the medical center and another for Alex Rins.
