The KTM rider continues to lead the championship with a slim two-point advantage over his closest rival, Marco Bezzecchi, who finished fourth in the Brazilian Sprint. Sprint winner Marc Márquez climbs to sixth in the standings, twelve points behind the leader. He has the same number of points as his closest competitor this Saturday, Fabio Di Giannantonio.
Sixth at the finish of the Sprint, fabio quartararo now occupies eleventh position in the championship, two places ahead of Johann Zarco, who crashed in the first of the two races MotoGP of the weekend. Local driver Diogo Moreira came very close to increasing his points tally with tenth position in the Sprint, while Fermín Aldeguer already sits atop the list of drivers who have not yet scored any points, despite competing in his first race of the season.
