  • The Grand Prix of the Americas Trials MotoGP start on a track that is still not ideal, although the conditions have improved compared to the morning. Like this morning, Johann Zarco is there from the first minutes, thus securing the provisional second place, behind Marc Marquez.
  • Conditions then improved drastically, and between the start and end of the first half of the session, the drivers gained more than six seconds per lap. When things returned to normal weather-wise, the tireless Marquez brothers were back at the forefront as well.
  • With twenty minutes remaining in the MotoGP test in Austin, Marc Marquez became the first rider of the weekend to break the 2 minute 7 second lap mark. However, he is still a long way off last year's pole time of 2:00.864 by Maverick Viñales.
  • At the end of the session, Jack Miller took the lead, setting a time of 2:05.115 on the Pramac team's Yamaha M1. This was without taking into account the return of the Ducatis of Marc Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who came in to set the first times of 2:04.

Marquez indomitable in Austin

  • Three minutes from the checkered flag, the yellow flags caused by Johann Zarco's crash at Turn 15 aborted several attempts. It was an unfortunate incident for the Frenchman, who had already dropped out of the top 10 and would not have the chance to improve.
  • At the end of the session, Marc Marquez clocked a lap of 2:02.929, nearly a second faster than everyone else. He thus ended the session in first place. His teammate, Pecco Bagnaia, finished nearly two seconds behind.
  • VR46 riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli proudly complete the top three, ahead of the two Gresini riders, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer.
  • Pecco Bagnaia, who remained discreet throughout the test, woke up at the end of the session to set the third fastest time. The Italian ultimately finished 10th, narrowly qualifying for Q2.
  • The other Frenchman on the grid, fabio quartararo, finished the session with the 11th time, and will suffer the same fate as Johann Zarco this Saturday.
