The rumor was already circulating in the Dutch GP paddock, it is now official: Australia will not appear on the calendar MotoGP for the second year in a row. The situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the resulting logistical and travel restrictions do not make it possible to guarantee the holding of the event.
Instead, the Malaysian GP initially scheduled for October 29-31 will be brought forward a week for a Thailand/Malaysia Asian trip over two weekends in a row.
Also, to maintain at least 19 meetings, Portimão will host the MotoGP again the week before the final in Valencia, this time it will be for the Algarve GP.
Unless the situation worsens by then, this schedule should not change again. The date of the Argentine GP is still pending, but the slots will start to run out to go to the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, hit by devastating fires last February.
