- Lights out was at 9:00 a.m. in Mandalika for the Sprint MotoGP which saw Jorge Martin start from pole position. The Spaniard kept the lead at the start, while Pecco Bagnaia moved from fourth to second place. While he was a few tenths ahead of the Italian, the #89 fell at the apex in turn 16, before even crossing the line for the first time. Martin was however able to keep the throttle in his fall to get going again quite quickly, and try to limit the damage.
- Behind, Marc Marquez made a sparkling start, setting off in twelfth place, the multiple world champion found himself in fourth place from turn 2, he then took the wheel of Marco Bezzecchi while the two men managed to overtake Pedro Acosta quickly, before catching up with the leader, who was undoubtedly more cautious than normal after his rival's fall.
- At the halfway point, Jorge Martin is already fifteenth. In front, Marco Bezzecchi loses control and goes wide, avoiding the tire to take Bagnaia's bike. It won't take much more for Marc Marquez who instantly takes back four tenths from the leader. Bastianini then also comes back into contact with the leading duo.
- The two men lose time fighting for second place. Pecco Bagnaia flies to a Sprint victory. Bastianini gives Ducati a double. Marc Marquez completes the top-3.
- Jorge Martin started the final lap in eleventh position, before making a powerful overtake on Jack Miller. However, he failed to make it to the points.
- fabio quartararo made a mistake trying to get the better of Franco Morbidelli, and finished in twelfth place. Johann Zarco was more cautious, and took advantage of an excellent pace to take the two points for eighth place. This is the first Sprint points for the Frenchman this season, and the best ranking for a Honda at the finish in 2024.
