On the sidelines of the 2025 season of MotoGP, two riders are considered favourites. It seems, in fact, that a duel between the official Ducati riders, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez is brewing. However, they still have 22 Grands Prix to go, and nothing is decided in advance. On the sidelines of the season opener in Thailand, the riders on the grid have made their predictions for the world title.
In this game, the two main interested parties gave very different answers. Pecco Bagnaia, double world champion, shows a certain confidence by assuring: “Me. I see myself as champion in 2025.” His status as favourite is shared by several of his peers, including the many Italian drivers on the grid.
However, Marc Márquez is the one who gets the most votes. Johann Zarco, Joan Mir, Fermín Aldeguer and Ai Ogura and many others point to him as the future champion. Álex Rins sums up this feeling by emphasizing: "The one who will win is the one who has the most titles among active drivers. And that is none other than Marc. »

Enea Bastianini also offers nuance to her analysis. "In the winter tests, what Marc did was impressive. But Bagnaia is super fast in the race."
For his part, Marc Marquez is worried about his teammate in the official Ducati team. But also about his younger brother, Alex. The number 73 impressed during the pre-season riding the Desmosedici GP24 of the Gresini team.
Some pilots dare to dream bigger. fabio quartararo, Marco Bezzecchi, Franco Morbidelli and Brad Binder thus bet on themselves, some with more irony than others.
The only rider who did not answer the question was Pedro Acosta. The Spanish rider, who will defend the interests of the KTM factory team this season, confided: "Time will answer this question."
In any case, the first act of this new MotoGP season will take place next week. The Buriram circuit will host the event. From the point of view of the pre-season times, carried out on the same site, Marc Marquez starts with the status of favorite.
