As the weekend continues under the Aragon sun, Marc Marquez has his first opportunity to defend his record pole position secured in the morning:

  • As the lights went out, the #93 got off to a slow start, letting his younger brother, Alex, and Franco Morbidelli slip away. In third place, he almost lost control during contact with Pedro Acosta. The championship leader, however, quickly regained the upper hand on the VR46 in front of him. As the third lap of the race approached, a duel on the track loomed between the two Marquez brothers.
  • Behind, Pedro Acosta made a promising start and found himself fourth. However, he lost a lot of time in the battle with Fermin Aldeguer. A duel closely watched by the Yamaha of fabio quartararo.
  • When Pedro Acosta closed in on Franco Morbidelli, he attempted to attack him, but without success. This incident caused both men to lose time. The Marquez brothers thus took the lead alone. Pedro Acosta, however, wasn't done leading the first part of the race. After a slight slip-up, he was surprised by Fermin Aldeguer. An intense duel then began between the two young drivers for fourth place in the Sprint. The Gresini driver emerged victorious.

A brief duel for victory between the Marquez family

  • Just past the halfway point of this Sprint MotoGPMarc Marquez has closed the gap on Alex. At the start of the sixth lap, he attempts an attack on the latter, and passes him without encountering much resistance. The Gresini rider remains in contact with his elder, while the leading duo has a two-second margin over Franco Morbidelli, who is soon threatened by Fermin Aldeguer.
  • As the laps progressed, Alex Marquez lost more and more ground to his brother. Marc also entered the final lap of the race with a two-second lead. Undaunted on the Aragon circuit, he claimed his seventh Sprint victory this year.
  • Behind them, Fermin Aldeguer won his duel with Franco Morbidelli, bringing home a double podium for Team Gresini, while finishing the race with a better pace than the rest of the field. Pedro Acosta completed the top five.

Bagnaia and Quartararo left behind

  • Pecco Bagnaia's nightmare weekend isn't over yet. After a poor start, he finished the first few laps in eighth place. Later, he made a mistake at Turn 7. He went wide and lost another five positions to his rivals. He found himself in 5th place, his finishing position...
  • After a satisfactory qualifying session, Fabio Quartararo was part of the second group. However, an incident during a duel with Maverick Viñales caused him to lose a few positions. The Nice driver ultimately finished the first race of the weekend in 11th place. The outcome was even less encouraging for Johann Zarco, who finished 16th.
  • The start of the Sprint was marked by the retirement of Joan Mir, after a tough duel with a competitor whom he finished in the gravel trap.
  • The MotoGP riders will return to the track this Sunday at around 14:00 p.m. to contest the Main Race of the Aragon Grand Prix.
