Alex Marquez struck a major blow at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, securing his first victory in MotoGP. A success that makes him the 122nd different driver to win in the premier class. This performance is not only a personal achievement, but also allowed him to break several records.

First, Alex joined his brother, Marc, on the MotoGP winning list, making them the first-ever brother duo to each win at least one race in the sport.

For Ducati, this triumph also holds particular significance. The Italian manufacturer thus secured its 22nd consecutive MotoGP victory, equaling the historic record set by Honda in the late 1990s. Alex Marquez becomes the 16th rider to secure a victory for the Bologna-based brand.

Alex Marquez's victory also allows Spain to reach a symbolic milestone: 200 MotoGP victories. Spain thus becomes the second nation to reach this milestone, behind Italy, which leads with 290 victories. This result, achieved on home soil, takes on an even more symbolic dimension.

With this victory, the Iberian also takes the lead in the world championship with 140 points, just one point ahead of his older brother, and twenty points ahead of Francesco Bagnaia.

The fight for the title promises to be more open and intense than ever. Especially with new opponents like fabio quartararo or Maverick Viñales, have shown that they are capable of asserting their interests when their machine allows them to. The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will take place in about ten days. It will be contested on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans during the French Grand Prix.
