The transfer market MotoGP has been lively throughout the summer, and many changes are to be noted for the 2025 season. In total, twelve drivers will take part in their next campaign equipped with a new machine, or more than half of the grid, which will remain made up of twenty-two regulars.
Among these, three rookies will make the big jump, from Moto2 to MotoGP, and this in the teams of three different brands.
Ducati
- Ducati Lenovo: Marc Marquez – Francesco Bagnaia
Marc Marquez will ride alongside Francesco Bagnaia in 2025, joining the factory structure of the Bologna brand. The Spaniard quickly proved himself at Ducati, as he only needed seven races on the Desmosedici GP23 to convince the management to give him a chance to ride the latest version. A GP25 that he already had the opportunity to test this Tuesday in Barcelona
- Gresini Racing: Alex Marquez – Fermin Aldeguer
While Alex Marquez retains his seat in the Gresini family, his brother's departure was filled by rookie Fermín Aldeguer, a triple winner in Moto2 this season, and fifth in the general classification at the end of the final in Barcelona. A result somewhat distorted by an injury suffered in Thailand, which compromised his end of the campaign.
- VR46: Fabio Di Giannantonio – Franco Morbidelli
At VR46, Fabio Di Giannantonio will be partnered by Franco Morbidelli. The former will, however, have the advantage of having the latest version of the DesmosediciGP, the future GP25. Along with the factory riders, he will be the only one to have what should be the best machine on the grid. Morbidelli will continue for a second consecutive year with the 2024 specification, which could give him a certain advantage at the start of the season, being the only rider who already knows his Ducati well.
KTM
- Red Bull KTM: Pedro Acosta – Brad Binder
Young rookie Pedro Acosta lived up to his promise in 2024, finishing sixth in the championship, just two points behind future teammate Brad Binder. The pair will now be teamed up in KTM's factory team next year.
- Gasgas Tech3: Enea Bastianini – Maverick Viñales
The second KTM line-up is no less interesting, since the two riders who make it up come from two different factory teams. Enea Bastianini will take over the management of the Austrian brand after being fired by Ducati, while Maverick Viñales will make a similar transition, coming from Aprilia.

Aprilia
- Aprilia Racing: Jorge Martín – Marco Bezzecchi
With no more options at Ducati, Jorge Martin will realize his dream of becoming a factory rider at Aprilia. The Spaniard's signing in Noale was highly recommended by the now retired Aleix Espargaro. A great friend of the new MotoGP world champion. His teammate also comes straight from Borgo Panigale, as Marco Bezzecchi will support him in Noale.
- Trackhouse Racing: Raul Fernandez – Ai Ogura
Raul Fernandez will be the only Aprilia rider to continue riding the RS-GP. Jorge Martín will not be the only reigning world champion to ride with the Italian brand, however. Trackhouse Racing will indeed have the luxury of hiring the 2024 Moto2 winner, Ai Ogura. The Japanese will take over for the land of the rising sun while Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) has just left the discipline.

Honda
- Repsol Honda: Luca Marini – Joan Mir
- New test drivers: Takaaki Nakagami and Aleix I will espargaro
Luca Marini's contract has ensured the Italian a peaceful future since the end of last season. His teammate, Joan Mir, has extended his contract during the year to continue to evolve with the Repsol Honda team, and to try to get things back on track with the Japanese factory.
- LCR Honda: Johann Zarco – Somkiat Chantra
Johann Zarco also had an agreement with the Japanese brand for the rest of his MotoGP career. However, he will change his garage neighbour. After Takaaki Nakagami retired, it was the Thai Moto2 rider, Somkiat Chantra, who was made official to become the future teammate of the Cannes rider.

Yamaha
- Yamaha: fabio quartararo –Alex Rins
- New test driver: Augusto Fernandez
Fabio Quartararo will continue with Yamaha next year. Alex Rins, who had started talks to renew his contract at the beginning of the summer, will follow the Frenchman in the adventure. The duo seem to enjoy working together. They have already led Yamaha to serious progress this year, with only two riders. It remains to be seen what the Iwata factory will be capable of with two more MotoGP riders on the grid.
- Pramac Racing: Miguel Oliveira – Jack Miller
Two machines that Yamaha will entrust to the Pramac Racing team. After its divorce with Ducati, announced in the middle of the campaign, the Mauves found refuge at Yamaha. They will build together a long-term project that aims to put the brand back where it should be in the premier class. A project that interested Miguel Oliveira and Jack Miller, whose MotoGP contracts had not been renewed at Trackhouse Racing or KTM. Note that Augusto Fernandez (Tech3) will also join Yamaha. He will be a test rider.
