The 2025 season is starting very badly for Jorge Martín. This morning, the pre-season tests of MotoGP started in Malaysia, on the Sepang circuit, and not everything went as planned for the Spaniard.
After a few laps, the reigning world champion fell once, then twice. It was this second incident that forced the number 1 to retire prematurely from the day.
He was initially taken to the medical centre and then transported to the nearest hospital for further examinations. Doctors diagnosed him with a fractured right hand and fractures in his left foot.
"Jorge Martin suffers a fracture of the head of the 5th metacarpal of the right hand, and a closed fracture of the 3rd, 4th and 5th metatarsals of the left foot. He underwent a CT scan and an MRI which revealed no lesions." Aprilia communicates later today.

Jorge Martin out of Sepang
The driver will spend the night in hospital, before taking a flight to Europe, where he will undergo surgery on his right hand and left foot. It goes without saying that the rest of Jorge Martin's pre-season testing is rather compromised. The Spaniard will undoubtedly miss the last two days of pre-season testing in Sepang.
It remains to be seen what happens with his rehabilitation, to see what happens with his participation in the Buriram Tests next week. Jorge Martín could choose to favour a 100% return for the first Grand Prix of the season, in Thailand. The meeting is set for the weekend of February 28 to March 02.
This is Aprilia's second forfeit today, after that of Raul Fernandez, for similar injuries. Trackhouse rider Ai Ogura is focusing on his discovery of MotoGP as a Rookie. Aprilia's hopes now rest on the shoulders of Marco Bezzecchi. Teammate of the reigning world champion in the factory team in Noale.
