MotoGP/WRC: same fight?

If the new WRC points system has been talked about a lot this year, the 2024 MotoGP season clearly shows the evolution of motor sports, with a battle for the title that can be described as artificial, and made possible thanks to Sprints.

This August, take a look at the overall rankings of the World Rally Championship and the World Rally Championship MotoGP is a very interesting exercise. At first glance, one might believe, with 27 points difference between Thierry Neuville et Sébastien Ogier, that the Belgian driver dominates his subject this season, and flies towards his first world champion title. Conversely, Francesco Bagnaia has only just regained the lead in the MotoGP championship, with a five-point lead over his rival Jorge Martin.
