Nakagami takes the lead in Italy

This weekend the Italian GP is being held on the sumptuous Mugello circuit nestled in the hills of Tuscany. At the end of the opening session, Takaaki Nakagami was the fastest with a lap of 1'46.662 and more than four tenths ahead of Aleix Espargaro.

The Catalan celebrates his extension with the second time ahead of Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Rins, who places the first four-cylinder in line in the hierarchy. Winner at Le Mans, Enea Bastianini completes the Top 5 ahead of another Aprilia RS-GP, that of Maverick Viñales.

Johann Zarco is the first French driver in the ranking with the ninth fastest time, seven tenths behind Nakagami. fabio quartararo is 11th; Luca Marini having inserted himself between the two French representatives.

Among the losers of this first session, we can cite Marc Marquez, 19th, or Jorge Martin, 20th. They are not far in terms of times... but with a Top 22 in just over 1.5s, the difference is quickly made.
