Can the rain do it again this year at the Austrian Grand Prix? While the MotoGP resumes its rights this weekend at Spielberg, the weather could join the party and give three days of showers for the pilots. In any case, this is what the forecasts announce this Friday, when the first free practices should start.

Binder had already done it in 2021

The thirteenth round of the calendar could prove more delicate than expected, according to the latest weather reports. It is almost certain that the drivers will have to deal with rain from this Friday, at the Austrian Grand Prix, with almost 80% chance of showers during the day, while the estimates drop by half for the morning of Saturday , or even 25% during qualifying. On the other hand, for Sunday, there will be almost a one in two chance of seeing rain appear.

Announcements which are reminiscent of the bet taken by Brad Binder (KTM) last year, who won thanks to a late downpour during the Sunday race. The South African was one of the only drivers to stay on track despite the arrival of precipitation, and finished the event well ahead of the leader for most of the Grand Prix, Francesco Bagnaia.
