First pole position for Bezzecchi

It was under a blazing sun and stifling temperatures that the pilots MotoGP met on Saturday for qualifying for the Thai GP.

During the repechage phase, Marc Marquez was the fastest in front of Miguel Oliveira. Despite all his efforts, Aleix Espargaro failed in third position, equaling his worst result of the season recorded in the United States. The Catalan will therefore start from the fifth row on Sunday and will have to work extra hard to try to do well in the game and above all not let the title slip through his fingers.

In Q2, Jorge Martin first set the first benchmark in 1'29.893, but in his second run, Francesco Bagnaia quickly took the lead with more than a tenth ahead of the Madrilenian. fabio quartararo, who waited one more lap before returning to the box, was then in fourth position.

In the last minutes, the rankings panicked. Martin regained his position before being dethroned by Marco Bezzecchi, author of a time of 1'29.671. On the first row, the rookie will therefore be ahead of Martin and Bagnaia

Quartararo will lead the second row in front of his compatriot Johann Zarco and another Ducati, that of Enea Bastianini. Winner in Japan, Jack Miller is seventh ahead of Marquez and Luca Marini, teammate of Bezzecchi. Alex Rins, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder will form the fourth line of this third Thai meeting in history.
