fabio quartararo ran four times in MotoGP at MotorLand Aragon and he has a fifth place as his best result, in 2019, his rookie year in the category.

Since then, he has never done better than eighth. The figures are therefore not to its advantage ahead of this 15e meeting of the season. “It’s a difficult circuit,” he says. However, we were rather quick each time during practice and qualifying, but during the races, we never achieved good results. »

Quartararo admits to having identified what was wrong and he hopes to be able to remedy it this weekend to make a difference before the Asia/Pacific tour. “We know where the problem is, after the past two years,” says the Nice native. We will try to find a solution. The fourth sector will be difficult for us. I'm confident and we'll see how this weekend goes. »

Ahead of this Aragon GP, Quartararo is 30 lengths ahead of Francesco Bagnaia who achieved his first success in the premier category on the Alcañiz track last year. Since then, the Italian has had no less than 10 victories in the last 20 races. “Calm or worried, it’s the same thing, there will always be 30 points,” jokes Quartararo. What I need to do is give my best, like I do, and push myself to the limit. We’ll see how it goes in the next few…”

A promising test in Misano

Quartararo concluded the two days of official testing at Misano in the lead with a time below the circuit record. The new Yamaha YZR-M1 engine seems to work much better than the current version on the stretches. The Iwata factory also unveiled a new chassis that the Frenchman appreciates. “We are going to have the chassis,” he confides. The Misano test was good. We'll see when we use it. The test was very important, not just for what we had to try. After Misano, everyone was a little down. I think these tests brought a smile to everyone's face and boosted their confidence. » Looking forward to the Valencia test!
