Quartararo penalized with a Long Lap after the collision in Assen
The panel of FIM Stewards MotoGP decided to penalize fabio quartararo for his attempt to overtake Aleix Espargaro during the Dutch GP race. The Frenchman, who believes he made a rookie mistake, fell at turn 5 and he hit Aleix Espargaro's Aprilia.

If the Catalan managed to stay on his wheels, the authorities judged that “Quartararo was too ambitious in trying to overtake A. Espargaro, specifies the press release. He was unable to complete his maneuver and subsequently fell, causing contact and forcing him to shoot wide. The evasive action taken by Espargaro allowed him to avoid the fall and rejoin the track. Nevertheless, his race was severely affected. »
Quartararo will therefore have to observe a Long Lap during the next race which will be held at Silverstone. Last year, the Frenchman won in Great Britain by more than 2.6s. If he does it again, he will have time to comply with this penalty...
